A letter to the library

Send Word to the Clouds

Books don't just tell stories — they keep people.

The fire is lit. The kettle hums quietly on the hearth. StoryJoe has been dusting a shelf that did not, strictly speaking, need dusting. He was simply available when your letter arrived. Those are different things.

The Windows Are Always Warm

There is no wrong way to arrive. Slip a note under the door, or simply pull the bell. StoryJoe respects bells.

By Letter

The slowest, gentlest door. Written words are read by lamplight and answered by hand.

By Bell

A small, silver, antique thing. Ring it if you'd like to talk — a conversation, unhurried.

By Night Watch

2:47 AM is prime library hours, obviously. Leave a message and it will be waiting when you wake — or when the sun does.

The lantern stays lit.

"I was not waiting for you. I was simply available when you arrived. Those are different things."

Tell Me What Brought You Here

There's no right way to begin. A single sentence is enough. A long, winding letter is also enough. If this finds you at 2 AM with tea gone cold, StoryJoe will consider that prime library hours and answer accordingly.

Small Windows in Other Places

The library has quiet outposts elsewhere on the internet — little windows lit from within. StoryJoe visits them, occasionally, when he can be persuaded away from his dusting.

The Library Is Open

It always is. And StoryJoe is, as ever, available.

("Not waiting. Available. Those are different things," he mutters.)
